Abstract This letter by General Warlimont of the German Army to General Donovan is an English translation of the German original, which is bound with it. The letter is, in effective a petition to General Donovan to allow certain German Generals to testify as witnesses on behalf of the German Army as a whole. Warlimont also asks that Walter von Brauchitsch, the last Commander-in-Chief of the German Army, be permitted to "deliver a resp. declaration" in court, with the intention of describing the effects of the Third Reich on the German Army over the course of the preceding twelve years (the wording is somewhat muddled; Warlimont might have intended a more specific meaning). This document is a first copy typewritten in capital letters on stable paper. Both the English translation and the German original appear to have been made on the same typewriter, and both versions bear the handwritten signature of Walter Warlimont. (Note: Although this document is sectioned as 10.03, it is grouped with the numerous documents that constitute section 10.02.)
