Documentation of a gay subculture revolving around burly, hairy men, or "bears." Includes newsletters, flyers, correspondence, and ephemera from bear clubs, printouts from related electronic discussion lists, and material related to the writing and publication of THE BEAR BOOK, which Wright edited. In addition, materials relating to the founding and running of the Nashoba Institute, a non-profit think tank focused on non-hegemonic masculinities.
Also, Wright's journals, personal memorabilia, and correspondence, including extensive correspondence with friend Billie Aul. Also included is much of Wright's academic work, notably his dissertation and tenure manuscripts, class syllabi, and other published and unpublished writings.
