With the dissertation were found typed and handwritten comments by Elizabeth (McAlister) Berrigan, Philip Francis Berrigan, and Daniel Berrigan; these have been removed and separately cataloged under Berrigan, Elizabeth (McAlister). The title page was lacking, and Philip Berrigan's comments were written on the copyright page; therefore, the dissertation has been bound with replacement title page and copyright page.
