ORGANIZATIONAL HISTORY
Founded at Cornell University, Sigma Xi is an honorary scientific
organization composed of undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty
members. Originally called the Society of the Sigma Xi, this organization
merged with the Scientific Research Society in 1974, and is currently named
Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society of North America.
